Non-profit status

Hello dear friends! I just wanted to keep you updated. I have officially filed for non-profit status. What does this mean to you? Absolutely nothing will change. It will allow us to get our name out into the communities and help more people in need. Our group will stay exactly as it is. We will keep doing everything as we have been. I didn't want you to worry or think there might be changes coming :) the only change is you will see a lot more of our great work. Thank you so much for your help. I appreciate each and everyone of you!

Love,

Tina

Etsy shop to benefit Paying If Forward

Well I did it. I started the process of becoming a non-profit organization. I am also have opened up an etsy shop. All of the proceeds from the shop go directly back into our pay it forward fund. Please check my site out and let me know what you think. BTW here is a 10.00 off promo code for anything over 20.00 on my site. The CODE is HEART.

If you have anything you would like to sell for you or anything you would like to donate to the cause I would appreciate it. I plan on documenting our good deeds in detail and making a gratitude book at the end of the year.

I enjoy getting up everyday seeing what is going on and learning from each and every one of you.

RAK

Hello friends,

I will be shipping out the 5 journals to the ladies this week. I will make sure to take pictures and post them for everyone to see. Thank you so much for all of your help with this. We could not have done it without you. I have heard the 5 ladies are excited and waiting for our package to arrive.

I have been asked this week what RAK stands for. It stands for Random Acts of Kindness. It is really any act of kindness paid forward to someone with the expectation of nothing in return. You do it because you want to help someone out.

Word has spread about what we are doing and we have been asked to make 18 journals for a rehab facility. There are men and women at this facility and art and journal are a part of their healing process. The rehab center is a non-profit so they run off of donations. I posted the need for help today and many of you have stepped up and offered to help us make some journals. I can't say thank you enough. 18 is a lot for anyone one person and these will each be unique and reflect our own personal style.

Other ways you can help is by making tip-ins for us to add to these journals such as tags, envelopes and really anything else we can attache to the journal pages. It might seem small but anything helps. I have said before we are working on seeing if we can put some art packets together for kids that have chronic or terminal illnesses. This will give them something to do while they are stuck in a bad situation.

I went to Honduras in June of last year and I took 2 suitcases full of art equipment to kids over there. Most of the kids have never had crayons, markers or even pencils. In order for us to give these out to the kids our boat pulled up and we threw bags of goodies out to the kids. I have never seen kids fight over such small goodies. Some of them lived in boats on the shore and had absolutely no clothing. I will post pictures for you to look at. It was by far the most humbling experience of my life to date. I can't imagine my daughters life without crayons seeing as she is my little artist.

I am dedicated to making this my lifes mission and work. I want to help others in any way big or small. Thank you for taking this journey with me and making this happen one journal at a time.

As you can see the small things make all the difference in the world.

Happy Thursday My Friends

Thank you everyone that has helped with the journal project. I will be posting pictures later this week when I have everything together so you can see the beautiful work.

We have a drug rehab program that uses art journals for the patients while they are undergoing treatment. They are nonprofit and are asking for donations. I will be starting journals for them. Please message me if you would like to help.

And last, please don't feel obligated. Only help if you are in a situation to be able to help and want to. I don't want anyone in our group thinking this is a requirement.

Thank you all for support and kindness.

Hugs,
Tina

Kindness

It has been a busy start to the week and I see so many of you creating. I also see how generous each and everyone of you are and for that I must say thank you. This world needs more people like you. I am still working on bags for the ladies in the shelter so it's not too late to get in any supplies. No matter the size it is all appreciated.

I have met some amazing women who I am sure I will now have a life long connection to. I hope everyone else is making friends along the way.

Please remember we are looking to pay it forward with random acts of kindness so if you know of anyone that could use a small pick me up please let me know.

Thank you for being awesome and remember to continue to invite new members.

Hugs,
Tina

Do Epic Shit!

For some this statement might be a little too bold or distasteful but I have to say it is my motto this year. I have always known I was meant to do something great I just didn't know what. I believe I've found what I'm meant to do. The reason I pay it forward every chance I get is I am hoping that one day if I ever need help someone will pay it forward to me when I need it. Plus it's just the right thing to do.  I grew up very poor. When I say poor in sure you thought yadda yadda we all think we grew up poor. But let me tell you there were days we had absolutely no food. There wasn't any in site and somehow we made it.

I wasn't the richest kid growing up and I'm by no means rich right now. I am rich in love and friendship and that's all that matters. I believe I have way more than I "need". I want to be able to help people in need. Here is my vision: (follow me here) I want to be able to provide our kindness and generosity to women who are homeless and have been batered. If they are just simply having a rough patch, yep I wanna help. It's not limited to women we can help men and children also. As a nurse I see so many kids with terminal illness and nothing to do. Maybe we can provide him with an art kit that he doodles on while getting chemo or in the hospital.

With all of that being said I have 3 other magnificent ladies that have joined with me. We need all of the help we can get. Please contact me if you are interested. It could be something as small as sending an old box of crayons, paper, glue, scissor. Anytjing you can donate will make someone else's day. I also need you ladies to keep you eyes open and ears to the ground for people that might need something. Let me know and we can get rolling.

Thank you so much for taking this journey with me. I am blown awa everyday at how generous you all are.

Love,

Tina
